I got into digital photography about 6 years ago. First, I bought myself a Polaroid digital camera, which was horrible but it was my first. The picture quality was like a webcam, so you can imagine. My second one was a small, Nikon coolpix. This was a much better camera and I got much better results playing around with it. Then I gave that one to my mother, and got myself a Kodak easy share with a nice zoom. Now I really was enjoying the results I was getting. This little camera was still limited, but it helped me get more motivated to take photos like this one http://www.jpgmag.com/photos/53348 and this one http://www.jpgmag.com/photos/53352. I took this camera with me everywhere, every day always looking for what my eyes saw as a moment worth capturing. I even entered a contest to save NYC subway photography.

But I still felt a bit limited because I could not create poster sized images with my little Kodak which is a 4 mega-pixel camera. I wanted to go further so I decided maybe it was time to get a DSLR. I’m not trying to go pro here, so this was a difficult decision. I love taking pictures, but sometimes I like to use the pictures to create digital artwork and I need them to be very large for that. A friend of mine who is a professional photograher had a Nikon D70s sitting in her closet, unused so I bought it from her for a good price. Now I have lots to learn with this new piece of equipment.

So I want to take more and more pictures now. I did take a lot last year when I went to Puerto Rico. I upload my best photos to my JPG magazine profile. I also submitted one for the possibility to get published in JPG magazine. So check it out! Vote for my photo here!

BTW the photos you see on the top right are from my collection. :)

How about you? Do you like photography?
